Unit 8

The first exercise I found most beneficial was the subtle mind exercise, I found this beneficial because although I had a hard time focusing I found it very calming and relaxing. The second exercise that I found the most beneficial was the visualization exercise; I really liked this one because I was able to feel the way I felt in the best moments of my life and that made me feel happier and more at peace.

I could use both of these every day to help me feel calm and happy and content with my life. By using the subtle mind to become calm and the visualization exercise to become happy and content I can truly enjoy every day.

  1. HI Chelsea, I agree with you, I like the subtle mind practice as well and the visualization. I will continue to practice these and others beyond this class and I will suggest them to my clients that I have. How would you suggest a practice to a particular client that you have? Would you give them examples to try out first? Everyone has their own ways that works best for them. I need to have something to focus on because my mind wonders way to much. I learned so much in this class and I am excited to beable to pass what I have learned to my clients.

  2. Chelsea,

I totally agree that the visualization exercise was such a wonderful experience. I have done this one several times already and each time I have different memories come to the forefront and my experience has been deeper and more fulfilling each time.

I think if we were to expose some clients to this one exercise, it might help them replace negative thoughts with good thoughts. I also firmly believe that if they doing this on a regular basis, the behavior will grow within them and the would be one step farther in their path to health and wellness.

Anyway, I have enjoyed reading your experiences and thoughts. I appreciate your honesty and respect your feedback. I know you will be terrific at what you choose to do after you graduate because of your spirit.

    Later,
    Naomi

  3. Hi Chelsea, these were two of the exercises that I had trouble staying focused on. I think that it was great that we each had so many choices of exercises this term and were able to pick one or two that we liked the most and that worked best for us. I think that it is sort of like any other non tradiditonal healing methods, where one may work well for one person and that same one may not work well for the next. Good luck to you in the future.

  4. Hi Chelsea

I am not to good when it comes to meditation but the visual exercise is good because I can try to focus on the good things in my life and picture myself where I want to be and it relaxes me then my teen my 17 year old daughter brings me back to reality with her drama. I am going to teach my kids how to meditate so I can enjoy my quiet time. :)
